Jr. Everblades Coach Peterson recap's the 12U A opening debut at the Greater Orlando Labor Day Tournament below:

The 12U A Everblades had a great showing this week in Orlando for the Greater Orlando Labor Day Tournament finishing 4-0-1 on the weekend!! The Jr. Everblades faced tough competition on route to the Championship game beating the CFHC Bears, Palm Beach Breakers and the Atlanta Fire 07 AA teams in round robin play finishing 3-0. The path to the Championship would only get harder as the Jr. Everblades faced off against the Florida Jr. Panthers 07 team in the semi-finals. After giving up the first three goals of the game, the Jr. Everblades battled back to win 5-4 in regulation!!

Despite winning the first game 7-3 against the Atlanta Fire 07 AA, the Jr. Everblades knew they would have to play their best if they wished to win a rematch for the Championship game. The Blades scored the first goal in a tight contest before conceding the next two goals. With just over 1:30 left in the third period, Brantlee Hoffman tied the game to send it to overtime!!! Another eight minutes of fast paced hockey ensued before the Atlanta Fire 07 AA scored the game-winning goal.

The Blades fell short of bringing home a trophy and banner to Germain, but gained valuable insight to what looks to be an amazing season for the 12UA team. Laughs in the hotel room, team bonding between games, and never giving up were common themes throughout the weekend. As they come back home to prepare to kick off the SAHOF season in Palm Beach, the Jr. Everblades are sure to look back on this tournament as one of the best ways to start a season!
