On behalf of the Jr. Everblades association please see an update from hockey director, Tony Lessel, on the Jr. Everblades Day scheduled for August 25 below.

Good afternoon JEB families!

I wanted to get out a quick note about our Jr. Everblades Day hosted at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex tomorrow. The organization has a great day planned for all the players and families to enjoy as we kick off the start of the season.

First, I need to thank Ellenton Ice and Sports as they have been an extremely accommodating host for us for this event. Ellenton Ice and Sports not only blocked off the ice for me but also did so for the festivities that will be taking place in the parking lot. Next, I need to thank all the Team Managers and their fearless leader CZ DiRosario for coordinating a “pot luck” of sorts with food and drinks!

As for the BBQ/Games portion of the day, we have rented a dunk tank, so all the kids can take a shot and try to dunk some of their favorite coaches. Parents and coaches, you’ll even have a shot at yours truly!

In addition, a snow-cone machine will be set up to keep everyone cool throughout the day. Lawn games will available for the kids to play and if you have a couple good ones feel free to bring as well. Several families are bringing their RVs and tents so when you pull into the parking lot it will be a dead giveaway as to where we are setup for the day.

All teams, players, coaches and parents coming together to kick off the season in the right fashion is what it’s all about for the kids. Although it might not be under optimal conditions locally at Germain Arena I look forward to seeing everyone and making this a day to kick off what is sure to be a successful season the right way!

I’ll finish up by saying this, it’s going to be a great event for the entire organization!

See you tomorrow,

Tony Lessel
