ESTERO, FL- The Jr. Everblades 12U A team, coached by James Johnstone and Austin Petersen, blew away the competition at the SAHOF State Championships this past weekend becoming the 2018 Division Champions.

With a remarkable five-game win streak, the powerhouse team was unstoppable.  Solid goaltending and a stellar defense allowed only six goals in five games to be scored.  Two shutouts, against the Sharpshooters and Tampa Bay Lightning were a testament to the skill level of both.

Combined with the constant pressure of the fast moving forwards, that continued to find the net, the team was unstoppable.

“Seven months of dedication from the players, parents, management, and coaches all came down to one weekend, and it couldn't have turned out any better,” said head coach Johnstone. “We arrived in Palm Beach as underdogs, but we peaked at the right time, and finished the season as champions.”

Hard work, dedication and unselfish teamwork resulted in a victorious season for the 12U A program.

“This was a great season overall,” said assistant coach Petersen. “The players found their roles on the ice and once we had established the team’s identity we went on a remarkable win streak.”

The SAHOF State Championship is a round-robin tournament consisting of the top teams throughout the state competing for the championship title.
