Try Goalie Day Free March 17th

ESTERO, FL- The Florida Everblades and USA Hockey have partnered together to host Try Goalie Day on Saturday, March 17 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Germain Arena.
 
“Our goal is to give as many kids we can the opportunity to put the goalie gear on and give goaltending a shot,” said Florida Everblades goaltending coach Josh Robinson.
 
Try Goalie Day is free for ages 5-13. Kids will need to bring skates, pants, jock/jill, helmet but the rest of the goaltending equipment will be provided during the event.
 
Josh Robinson and Phil Osaer will be the head instructors for the Try Goalie Day event.
 
Robinson enters his first year as both the Everblades (ECHL) and Florida Jr. Blades (USPHL) goaltending coach. The former ECHL Goaltender of the Year played five professional seasons between the ECHL and American Hockey League. Robinson also runs Elite Goalies Florida a professional goalie school offering camps and private lessons in Lee County.
 
Osaer joined USA Hockey in 2015 and is the current ADM manager for youth goaltending programs. Prior to joining USA Hockey in 2015, Osaer was the director of hockey operations for Michigan State University. Osaer is a Level 4-certified USA Hockey coach and played 12 professional hockey seasons including time with the New York Rangers and Florida Panthers.
