GAME PREVIEW: 16U Futures Off To Showcase In New Jersey

ESTERO, FL- The Florida Jr. Blades 16U Futures program will travel to New Jersey this upcoming weekend for a five-game stint at the Bridgewater Sports Arena. Futures enters the weekend with a 8-3-0-1 record in the USPHL, four points away from overtaking the Potomac Patriots for fifth place in the standing.  

"Going into our last weekend of regular season games we will be facing some good competition. We're pushing for a playoff spot and this weekend will a true test. Keeping everyone dialed in and healthy will be the key,” said head coach Pete Flores. “We have all the tools to be successful, it’s going to come down to being engaged mentally and executing the small details."   

The five-game road kicks off with two days of double-headers starting Saturday morning at 8:50 a.m. against the Jersey Shore Whalers before a 3:20 p.m. battle against the Islanders Hockey Club. On Sunday, a 9:00 a.m. start against the Patriots kicks off the day before a 3:10 p.m. battle against the New Jersey Rockets. Before returning home, one last test against the P.A.L. Junior Islanders will take place at 1:10 p.m.

Forward Brennan Cyhaniuk (19 pts) leads the team in point totals with 11 goals and eight assists. Cyhaniuk is ranked eighth overall on the league’s point totals list. Adam Hauptman (17 pts) is just two points behind with eight goals and nine assists, Hauptman is ranked tenth on the leagues overall point-leader board.
