Jr. Everblades family,

As we turn the page on a great 2022-2023 season, I have some exciting news to share about our upcoming season ahead. I am thrilled to announce the hiring of Sarah Sanchez to be the exclusive power skating coach for the Jr. Everblades in the upcoming 2023-2024 season. Sarah comes to us from Richmond, VA where she worked with the Richmond Generals program. As you’ll see below she has the experience and enthusiasm that will make a major impact and take our players to another level in the upcoming season. Please join me in welcoming Coach Sarah to the staff!

Hey Jr. Everblades,

I’m excited to join you guys as your power skating coach for the 2023-2024 season! I will be making my move down to Florida this coming August but in the meantime, here is a little about me.

I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA. I am a US Figure Skating double gold medalist in Moves in the Field and ice dancing. I started coaching in 2011 in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. I trained both figure skaters as well as hockey players however, during that time I developed a deep love for training my hockey players. At the beginning of 2021, I made a full-time switch to hockey and launched Bolt Power Skating. The positive development in my players grew a desire that prompted me into becoming a full-time power skating coach. I was the Richmond Generals Tier II’s power skating coach from 2020-2023. I have coached beginners to AAA/junior/collegiate level players. I am a member of USFS as well as USA Hockey. I also hold a gold level judging certification with the Ice Sports Industry.  I believe that proper skating technique is foundational to creating lighting fast skaters. My coaching foundation puts a strong emphasis on edge work & as well as proper body posture. This in return increases balance, stability & agility on the ice. I am a devout Christian. I hold a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Regent University. I currently live in Richmond, VA with my kitty Lorelai. However, I am very much looking forward to my move to Estero this summer. One of my greatest joys is seeing my students excel in the sport I love.

I look to forward to the group sessions with your players but I will also be available for private lessons. I will roster only 10 players for private lessons during the fall/winter season. Please feel free to reach out to me on my website for more information. You can also watch videos and get updates on my Facebook and Instagram pages as well. I'll put those links below.
