Jr. Everblades Coach Robin Girard gives a recap on the 2018-19 season for the 14AA program:
The Bantam 14UAA team worked very hard all season, and saw terrific improvement both as a team and as individual players. The team had a tough season from a wins and losses perspective but stuck with it. In truth we all knew at the start of the season that this team was going to have to work really hard and develop to be able to compete in AA. We started training in June 2018 right after tryouts which really helped bring the group along. Early in the season our goal differential was substantial, but by late fall we were in the vast majority of our games and were able to keep the scores very close. We were now certainly a AA team and could compete with the majority of the teams in AA. We managed to have some wins and the players confidence grew.
We ended our season by playing the Presidents Day Tourney in Colorado Springs, CO and were able to win Gold and had a 5-0 record. The highlight for all of us was getting to play the championship game at Air Force Academy.
It was a great way to end our season on a high note. AC - Tom Zebley and myself could not be more proud of the entire team for sticking with it and working hard all season to improve as players and young men. These are a great group of boys and we wish them future success as people and players.
