ESTERO, FL- A competitive 14U A team played to win this past weekend, coming away with two back-to-back wins at Pines Ice Arena. The players were ready and came through in a clutch game against the 1st place Hawks.

Head coach Rob Girard is proud of his team’s performance.

“The team did great at the Pines Ice Arena, we beat the first place Palm Beach Hawks 4-0 coming from behind 2-1 scoring four unanswered goals. The Hawks took eight penalties in the game, and our power play really took advantage of the situation,” said Girard. “In our second game we came out flat and got down 2-0 to the Golden Wolves, however the team rallied in the third period to tie the game, and we scored the game winner with just over one-minute left in the game.”

Girard his hopeful for the future of this team.

“Overall the team is really coming together after an average start, we have won our last four games and the team steadily gaining confidence in our system and team play,” Girard said.

The next 14U A league games will be held at the Panthers Ice Den on Dec 2. against the Panthers Gold and Breakers.  The team will also travel to the Thanksgiving Tournament in Coral Springs, Florida.
